CaféWell
CaféWell is Welltok’s health optimization platform. Designed to reward users for completing tasks, CaféWell is a study in carefully researched, data-driven, and iterative design processes.
As the lead designer at Welltok, my roles and responsibilities included conducting user research, developing personas, complex user flows, and highly polished designs for engineering.
Case study
The problem: Legacy website was riddled with usability and performance issues as well as an inconsistent styleguide which led to user confusion and frustration in using the product.
The solution: Redesign the platform on web and mobile to increase efficiencies for the user as well as maintain a more coherent user experience through implementing a new and improved design system (Elevate)
My role: Create journey maps, an IA structure, user personas and utilize user research to inform and validate through multiple design iterations. Design and hand off assets to engineering utilizing the new design system.
Actioncards
Cognitive lift: With the previous design, users were forced to view all the content in an Actioncard in a small viewport in their itinerary view. With the redesign, users now have a dedicated view for their Actioncard contents. Via expanding/collapsing accordion panes, users can watch videos, read articles, take quizzes, and more without leaving the context of the Actioncard they're currently viewing.
Rewards dashboard
Making sense of it all: With so many customizable options for clients, creating a consistent rewards dashboard for the platform was a challenge. Content must be fluid, scalable, and able to accomodate a number of different currencies and scenarios across a range of modalities.
Re-thinking announcements
Standing out: Cafewell's legacy platform had a large, obtrusive jumbotron calling users' attention to new events. The problem is that because it always persisted, it caused banner blindness, leaving users to ignore important information. With the commonly established bell and badge design pattern, users' attention is more easily obtained and directed where it matters.
Mobile
Platform parity: One of the biggest design challenges was designing a mobile app that captured the most important aspects of the web, such as completing Actioncards. The app is lightweight, focused, and provides a consistent experience for users on iOS and Android.
